Watch Shelly’s commentary on BEST BUY (NYSE: BBY) being the first national retailer to sell APPLE’s (NASD: AAPL) 3G iPhone. CNN is set to double the number of journalists in domestic cities. The journalists will work from borrowed office space, utilizing mobile devices and the internet, instead of expensive bureau offices, to communicate the news. CNN’s move is notable as it mimics many of the tools bloggers use to produce daily content. YAHOO (NASD: YHOO) is expected to name two new board members on Friday. In compliance with its deal with Carl Icahn, Yahoo will likely give Frank Biondi and former Nextel CEO John Chapple seats on Yahoo’s Board of Directors. Icahn and his cronies have a lot of work to do to get Yahoo’s stock back up to $33. Former HBO CEO CHRIS ALBRECHT has suddenly resigned from his job at IMG. Albrecht, who held the newly created Head of Media and Entertainment position at IMG, was in charge of raising money for media acquisitions, a job which was never fully realized. IMG blames the credit collapse for the lack of funding and Albrecht’s subsequent departure. L’OREAL’s lawsuit against EBAY (NASD: EBAY) has been dismissed by a Belgian court. The suit, which charged eBay with selling counterfeit goods, was thrown out on the premise that eBay’s procedure for removing fake goods was well within the law. The decision comes a month after eBay won a similar injunction from Tiffany & Co. and will secure eBay’s stance against counterfeit goods. Share This Less
