A debate – James Petras and Norman Finkelstein. The explanation for the support is to be found in the activities of the Israel Lobby, also known as the Jewish Lobby, or as AIPAC (the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee), which uses its formidable influence to shape American foreign policy in accordance with Israeli interests. This opinion has most recently been associated with an article published in the London Book Review, co-authored by Professor Mearsheimer of the University of Chicago and Professor Walt of Harvard University. This debate is the topic of this program. Norman Finkelstein is a professor of political science at De Paul University and James Petras is an Emeritus Professor of sociology at SUNY, Binghamton.

Freedom of Racism!

Why did Jyllands-Posten publish the cartoons? The Copenhagen Post explains: “Jyllands-Posten called for and printed the cartoons by various Danish illustrators, after reports that artists were refusing to illustrate works about Islam, out of fear of fundamendalist retribution. The newspaper said it printed the cartoons as a test of whether Muslim fundamentalists had begun affecting the freedom of expression in Denmark.” You see, when the Danish newspaper published these cartoons, they claimed they did that as a ‘test of whether Muslim fundamentalists had begun affecting the freedom of expression in Denmark.’ So, now I guess Norway wants to conduct the same test. Just like someone ‘finger your ass‘ (excuse my French) and you are not suppose to react or even say ‘ouch’. It’s ‘freedom of expression’, and they express that the way they see it fit. But if you do the same, you will be called all names. So, don’t dare calling them racist!!
