This episode marks the introduction of a new segment, Dollar-Bin Theatre, in which we dramatize cheesy old comic book stories. If you’d like to send us a book (pay no more than one dollar!), go here for the PO Box address. Postage will be negligible! Once again, there will be two episodes this week, mainly because of a breaking news story, and related exclusive interview, recorded live from jail. But — who’s been incarcerated?
The second of two new episodes this week. I know! Warning: I upped the bit rate on this one, because otherwise, the music sounded like Internet Cymbals (© 2007 Jason Decay). Next episode: the long-promised ZUKU interview, with a track from their upcoming live record! Still applicable: * We’ll be doing a Secret Zanta Mix Tape/CD Exchange at some point, so sign up now! * Got a relationship question? Ask Beer’d!
Remember that time we had Sunjye over? The resultant episode stretched over an hour, with minimal edits. Lengthy, but all very interesting, I thought. That same night, we recorded the audio of a “healing ceremony” Sunjye performed, consisting of a reading from E. J. Gold’s American Book of the Dead. (The original episode post actually shows a picture of our setup that night, too. Fire up some myrrh, and it’s almost like you’re there.) I wasn’t quite sure how to go about editing that piece (although the intention was to offer it as a supplemental download to accompany that episode), so it was never released. Since Erin hadn’t heard it since the night it was recorded (last December!), I thought it might be cool to record an intro, listen to the ceremony, and then capture our reactions. So here y’go! Let us know what you think. As always, post your antidotal comments below (or out loud at 309-216-6458), answer the new poll on the right, v...

Listen as we heave a sigh of relief at our return to the land of podcasting, where the median IQ of the audience sits in the triple digits. Well, for our show, anyway. We missed you terribly in TV land, but we’re back now, and you’ll find the complete listing of people and things eviscerated in this episode just below, in the typically ridiculous show notes. Looks like we won’t be getting a video of the MTV Live appearance, but listening to this will be far more entertaining, I promise. The only drawback? No miniskirts. Drat. Hey, go ahead and take a picture of yourself listening to Molar Radio while wearing a miniskirt, and send it in! Tee-hee! Erin’s still looking for full-time nanny work, preferably in downtown Toronto, ideally close to Lansdowne station. Kindly pass along any leads you may have. As always, post your vapid comments below (or out loud at 309-216-6458), answer the poll on the right (suggest a new one, why don’t you?), vote at the Alley...

Bit of a delay there, but some friends had to move, and I never pass up an opportunity to lift boxes. In case you didn’t see it, Erin and I were on the MTV this week, talking about the podcast and our break-up episode in particular. It was pretty last-minute, so I didn’t bother putting a notice up here. More specifically, we were on MTV Live, which is “a place to hang-out with the world’s biggest stars.” And boy oh boy, is that us. I’ll see if I can get a video of it; otherwise, you’ll have to use your imagination while listening to us talk about the experience. That’ll be in #43, which should be finished by next week. On this episode, we talk about a bunch of non-MTV stuff. Check the notes! Oh, and Erin’s now looking for full-time nanny work, preferably in downtown Toronto, ideally close to Lansdowne station. Let her know if you’ve got a lead!
Aaaand we’re back, with #42 already recorded, pending editing. They took time to assemble, but our anti-drug ads were well worth the effort. Be sure to stick around until the very end of the episode for those. Eventually, I’ll put them up for individual download. Making a difference! As mentioned, Erin’s looking for work, so if you know of any shared/part-time nanny opportunities (especially in the Yonge and Lawrence area), be sure to pass that info along. Many thanks! Finally, we’re back to a regular recording schedule, so we’ll talk to you again sooner rather than later.
As much as I abhor spending the podcast talking about podcasting, we thought we should commemorate our first anniversary by reflecting on the past year, as briefly as possible. It’s a special occasion! Too bad we forgot cake. I was a bit stuffed up, so no, all that sniffing is not indicative of my downward spiral into substance abuse. Also, be sure to try the Molar Radio Drinking Game: Take a drink each time I sniffle or thank you for listening, and each time Erin says “yes” or “uh-huh.” Drink twice for backwards audio! No igniting your sugar cubes, please and thank you. You can still send us audio birthday wishes; we’ll play them throughout the month! Or whenever!
