Lilak invoke these idyllic daydreams with ease, and with no surprising twists or nasty surprises laying in wait. Liljeland’s voice in particular is like aural nectar and her performance for lead track ‘Silence Come’ is never bettered. Ironically, it’s the understated delivery of the vocal that lends the songs their soulful vibrancy, a tactic that’s lost on so many artists these days. Minimal organ lines augment the atmospherics of the sparse arrangements, the rhythms of which break into a light skip for ‘Waves’ and ‘Somekind Of’, but otherwise retain their slow, drifting course toward the acoustic serenity of final track, ‘Byrds, Water and Days’. ??Scandinavians seem to excel at producing pastoral pop of this nature, songs that are delicate but that manage to avoid sounding painfully twee, and Lilak are no exception. ‘Silent Songs’ is like detox for the ears.”???RICHARD STOKOE http://www.losingtoday.com/reviews.php?review_id=4008 —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-——Itsatrap_: Tuesday, July 17th, 2007 Hey look!
