Firefox’s sidebar is a perfect tool for accessing mobile sites. By using these sites in the sidebar, you can utilize various web apps and sites without having to leave the page you are on. In fact, you can create your own personal Flock-type browser if you take the time to find the necessary sites. I have used both Twitter and del.icio.us in my sidebar and have been quite pleased with the results. Here’s what Twitter looks like in the Firefox Sidebar: And here’s del.icio.us in the sidebar: Other sites with great potential for Sidebar usage: 1. Remember The Milk 2. Pownce 3. Facebook 4. Google Calendar 5. Jaiku 6. Google Notebook 7. Google Docs 8. Flickr To add the desired mobile site to your Firefox sidebar: 1. Open Firefox. 2. Go to the menu, click Bookmarks and select Organize Bookmarks. 3. In the right pane, select Bookmarks Menu. 4. Click the Organize button at the top of the window, and select New Bookmark. 5.
Google Rolling Out Rich Media and Gadget Ads

Recently MightyQ noticed some chitika-like ads being delivered by adsense. Although adsense has tested various rich media ad types in the past, I have never seen interactive “gadget ads” like these on adsense before. These advertisements are being delivered from ads.gmodules.com which redirects to the typical google home page: <iframe scrolling=”no” frameborder=”0″ src=”http://ads.gmodules.com/ig/ifr?url… Google seems to like the “gadget” nomenclature: …name=”gadgetiframe1132627890838564930009″> I am assuming that the ad itself was designed by echo3.net. Echo3 has a long history of releasing cool google gadgets. It is no surprise that they are being used to generate these gadget ads. The gadgets are driven by XML: …url=http://echo3.net/cb/live/336×280-cb.xml… For pointing out their coolness, I am going to hotlink to the spinner they use. Just using that, everybody will think that some cool gadget is loading, right? Wwwwwwwweeeeeee…. Google gadget ads have the same problems that all gadgets, everywhere have. They are difficult to get to work on every browser system on every OS in every situation. I had to refresh this one a couple of times in firefox 2 OS X to get it unstuck. Here it is in eternal loading… I can not imagine the pain of trying to code and debug this type of complex javascript. Here is firebug showing the coding structure. iFrame within iFrame, anyone? For rich media ads, these are very tasteful and painless. I do not have any idea how the publisher is compensated for these ads. If somebody clicks and interacts with the ad but never navigates to the sponsor page, is that enough for the publisher to get paid? Does the visitor actually have to visit the sponsoring page or compete a transaction to trigger the adsense payment? Google has been pushing google gadgets for igoogle, for for any webpage, and for the desktop. The extension of the gadget format into adsense has started.
…eeeee’s back! So, I’m hanging out tonight, got Food Network in the background, and working on this db problem. As you may recall from the last episode (more than a day ago, but work with me here), I was having issues getting the symfony config to connect to the database. After a few moments of exhaustive research, it looks like my problem was the user password. I….I…I… Naaah, that can’t be! Changed the password anyway, and my error message changed. Now, the error looks like: [propel-sql-exec] Failed to execute: CREATE TABLE `dvd` ( `type` VARCHAR, `id` INTEGER NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `starring` VARCHAR, `id_starring` VARCHAR, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) )Type=InnoDB [propel-sql-exec] Could not execute update [Native Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' `id` INTEGER NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `starring` VARCHAR, `id_starring` VAR' at line 3] [User...

7 Must Have Apps for the Nokia N800/N810 Internet Tablet

The Nokia internet tablet is a handy little device to do a great deal of tasks when you’re on the go. By adding these seven applications, you can do even more. Applications I’ve added to my internet tablet: 1. GPE-Calendar - a great little calendar app that helps me keep track of all my appointments. By also using Erminig, I can sync GPE-Calendar with my Google Calendar. 2. VNC Viewer - remote control software allowing you to view and interact with any computer running a VNC server. 3. Canola - This application turns your internet tablet into a mini media center for playing music, videos, podcasts, viewing photos, etc. 4. Maemo WordPy - a fully functional WordPress client for blogging. 5. Other Maemo Weather - Applet for your Home screen for displaying weather conditions. 6. Gnumeric Spreadsheet - GNOME spreadsheet app. 7. Pidgin - a multi-protocol IM client. Definitely needed if you chat with protocols unsupported by the native client.

todays video post will be a look at my PS3 running v2.10 firmware and my PSP running CFW 3.90 M33 (Dark Alex styled) and Remote Play. i’ll be honest and admit that i’ve contemplated selling my PSP on quite a few occasions but right when i’m about to break down and do it, i stop myself. the main reason i always stop myself is the potential for its bonding w/the PS3 and Remote play. Only a very few games even support remoteplay and gaming (Lair supports remoteplay, you can play Lair on your PSP w/remoteplay) and if your running CFW its a hit or miss game depending on if a sony ps3 update will change code related to remoteplay apps (like last update and cfw 3.70, however there were ways around that). anywho, the video below just shows a few of the newer features of the remoteplay including using the Gaia screensaver for music. [youtube cdY7raOLzPY] youtube link here enjoy!

Still wondering about the Nintendo Revolution controller? Be sure to check out this video where you can see how exactly it will work. Turner Broadcasting has announced a new service called GameTap which will let you download classic games (Atari to PS1!) and original video content to your PC for a small fee (looks like USD14.95/month).
